Secretary Of State
I am writing to have The United States fulfill its full promise of $939.8 million for the recovery of Haiti after it was devastated by the January 2010 earthquake. As of March 2012, only 19% of this money was given.
Meanwhile, 54% of Haitians live on less than a dollar a day. More than two thirds of workers are unemployed.
Please distribute the rest of the promised aid to Haiti by the end of 2012.
Our nation should fulfill our commitments – and help those Haitians who need it most. This means giving directly to Haitian communities and individuals. Working with US companies and international NGO’s to help rebuild Haiti only goes so far.
Let’s help Haitians rebuild, create jobs and lift themselves from extreme poverty!
Please spread the word!
